The FVAS co-ordinates the Surinamese part of the exchange program of the Artists-in-Residency Duende – Rotterdam. This program started in 2007 and is sponsored by the Dutch Embassy in Paramaribo, Suriname and the CBK Rotterdam (Centrum Beeldende Kunst Rotterdam. The program is part of ArtRoPa.

George Struikelblok was the first selected Artist-in-Residence in 2007.
In 2008, Kurt Nahar and Steve Ammersingh were selected for this Artist-in-Residency.

At the moment Ravi Rajcoomar and Roddney Tjon Poen Gie are the Artists-in-Residence at Duende in Rotterdam.
Their Artist-in-Residency will be closed with an exhibition.
