Since the foundation the FVAS has realized several projects. Ever since the first Surifesta in 1997, Visual Artists participated together in this End of the Year festival. The participation was sometimes an exhibition or a manifestation, but could also be a small national project.
For instance in 2001, the Surifesta project was an Art Poster & Brochure Project "People with a disability, the untapped workforce". Concept: It is not yet generally accepted that People with a disability also have the right to work. The aim of this project was to produce professionally designed posters and brochures. An Fancy Fair, Art Exhibition and Contest put the subject in the spotlight. Another example is the Educational exhibition in Surifesta 2000: "Suriname, van Nederlandse kolonie tot onafhankelijke staat". An Educational Art Exhibition about the history in Suriname and a walking rally within for schoolchildren. Next to these smaller national Art projects that were exposed during Surifesta, the FVAS organized 3 larger national projects, which were all educational Art projects. | 2004 | Art project “Coronie 2004”. The ‘Parwa Draak’ (Driftwood Dragon), Educational Youth Program and several smaller project: for instance the film “Coronie Player”, and exhibitions in Coronie en Paramaribo |
