General Information
The Federation of Visual Artists in Suriname (FVAS) aims for all stakeholders in the art section to join forces
for the benefit of all concerned and to promote and stimulate visual arts, both inside and outside of Suriname. 

The FVAS strives to do so by:
  • Organizing (and participating in) exhibitions, art events, educational projects and other community projects,
  • both on a national and an international level,
  • Organizing lectures, debates, workshops, seminars, symposiums and more, and
  • Making use of al legal means that will enable the FVAS to reach its goal.

Ever since its foundation the FVAS has used networking as a powerful tool to promote visual arts.
Through regular e-mail updates and newsletters FVAS members are kept up to date.
The FVAS website keeps the national public, as well as regional and international contacts informed of the latest news.

The financial means of the federation consist of:
  • Contribution fees,
  • Donations and gifts,
  • Project sponsoring, and
  • Other legally obtained funds.
